Vegas, baby!

Today Las Vegas Pride kicks off again. Which reminds me it is already one year since our own Las Vegas Experience. Busy, fake, loud and in-your-face. When first arriving in the City of Sin I thought I could not take it and that we had to leave *immediately*. Luckily I came to my senses, relaxed and let myself go with the flow. It turned out to be colorful, lively, breathtaking! One of the most festive weekends of my life I can truly say.

Litt nye klær

Et søk på korean men's clothes på eBay gir mange spennende resultater. Jeg vet at asiatiske klær er latterlig små, men tok likevel sjansen på et par størrelser større enn jeg vanligvis bruker, og bestilte en skjorte og en slags vest for å prøve.

Klærne ankom postkontoret på under en uke. Kvaliteten på skjorten er det en del å utsette på, men på litt avstand eller i dårlig belysning tar den seg likevel ganske så bra ut. Vesten er jeg mer fornøyd med. Kan bli en favoritt etterhvert! Pris tatt i betraktning er dette et varp. Test bestått. Frister til gjentakelse.

While waiting for summer to hit Norway, I dream back to september when we spent a week in the magical lagoon island of Aitutaki. A picture says more than a thousand words, but a video says even more:

For the nostalgia / Frem fra glemselen: Smoke City - Underwater Love

Do you remember this one? Apart from the "foreign" language part this was a somewhat untypical summer hit. Not at all accessible. Beeing featured in a quite sexy Levi's jeans commercial and released in 1997 when Portishead was at the top of their game obviously helped it though. Nothing sums up a Bergen summer more accurately:

"After the rain comes sun, and after the sun comes rain again"

I didn't remember the video was this good. It's class. Unlike most other songs in the genre summer hits this one has stood the test of time surprisingly well. I'm still fascinated how they on this track have managed to capture the underwater mood. Just makes you wanna jump in and lie about floating for a while. Every time the Portuguese parts kick in - still give me the chills! If you like relaxing music like this, I would also recommend you to check out another Smoke City song: It's Amazing.
